Scholarship Opportunities for Spring 2025

Purpose & Criteria

The Kenna Finch Memorial Scholarship

Purpose: North Central Women’s League believes that continuing education is the key to success for all students. The purpose of the NCWL Kenna Finch scholarship is to aid a graduating Sunnyslope or Central High School Seniors who is planning to further their education in a college, university, trade or technical school program.  

Applicants should show a commitment to their community through schoolwork and extracurricular activities, demonstrate financial need, academic achievement and the potential to complete their desired program. First generation college-bound students are encouraged to apply.

Criteria: Student must be a Sunnyslope or Central High School Senior and must continue to attend classes and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade-point average through the remainder of the school year. Students must intend to continue their education in the 2025-2026 academic year in a full-time four-year university, an accredited community college, or trade or technology certification program. Consideration will be given to financial need, community service, extracurricular activities and academic achievement.

Students must complete the application form and submit a typed essay of at least 500 words but not more than 750 words describing their plans for the future and how they will give back to the community they call home.

Application Deadline: The application deadline is Friday, February 28, 2025.

Sunnyslope High School Students
Amount: The awarded scholarship will be $3,000 and will be paid directly to the program the winner of the scholarship will be attending.
Awarding of Scholarship: The scholarship will be awarded to the winner at the Sunnyslope High School Award Ceremony in April 2025 (date TBD).
Please submit applications by February 28th.

Central High Students
Amount: The awarded scholarship will be $3,000 and will be paid directly to the program the winner of the scholarship will be attending.
Awarding of Scholarship: The scholarship will be awarded to the winner at the Central High School Award Ceremony in May 2025 (date TBD)
Please submit applications by February 28th.

The CopperPoint Scholarship

Purpose: North Central Women’s League believes that continuing education is the key to success for all students. Essay Submission

Note: The NCWL Scholarship Committee may request further information in order to make their selection. Contents must include your application and a 500-750 word essay.
